Depending on the chapter, the membership intake process can happen each semester or once a year.
Our special-interest chapters organize their own recruitment process.
For Kappa Beta Gamma, periods of recruitment are usually a week or two in length, beginning at the start of each semester and result in a “bid” or an invitation to join in anticipation of full membership.

UGC is supportive of the growth of organizations within the Greek community at UK. To bring new organizations to campus, an interest group is started by students.
Currently, UGC has one interest group, A.C.E., Asians Changing Expectations, an interest group determined to bring an Asian-interest sorority to campus.
Many of the resources provided to individual members of the fraternity and sorority life community are made possible through the FSL Fee. This fee is assessed similarly to other student fees, such as lab fees, through the student’s online tuition bill each semester.
The FSL Fee, which shows up as “Greek Fee”, is first assessed the semester in which a student joins and continues each semester of their membership.
All members who joined prior to Fall 2020 will continue to be assessed the current $12.23 per semester fee until they graduate or transfer from the institution.
Beginning Fall 2020, the FSL Fee assessed each semester to individual members joining the United Greek Council will be $30.
